Karlsruhe entscheidet über Ratifizierung der Reform von Euro-Rettungsschirm ESM
Das Bundesverfassungsgericht veröffentlicht am Freitag (09.30 Uhr) eine Entscheidung über die Reform des Krisenfonds ESM. Diese war Anfang 2021 von den EU-Staaten auf den Weg gebracht worden, wegen der Verfassungsbeschwerde in Karlsruhe unterzeichnete Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier das deutsche Gesetz aber zunächst nicht. An das Gericht hatten sich sieben Bundestagsabgeordnete der FDP gewandt. (Az. 2 BvR 1111/21)
Sie wollten den ESM nicht grundsätzlich in Frage stellen, sondern sahen ihre Rechte verletzt, da das Zustimmungsgesetz "verfassungsändernd" sei, aber nicht mit Zweidrittelmehrheit verabschiedet wurde. Der Europäische Stabilitätsmechanismus (ESM) war vor zehn Jahren als Reaktion auf die Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise geschaffen worden, um angeschlagene Euro-Länder zu unterstützen. Mit der Reform soll er mehr Möglichkeiten bekommen, bei finanziellen Krisen zu helfen. Alle Euro-Länder müssen die Reform ratifizieren.
