Iranische Skifahrerin Atefeh Ahmadi beantragt Asyl in Deutschland
Die iranische Skifahrerin Atefeh Ahmadi ist laut einem Medienbericht aus ihrem Heimatland geflohen und hat in Deutschland Asyl beantragt. "Ich habe den Iran verlassen, um mein Ziel zu erreichen, aber mein Herz ist mit dem Iran verbunden", sagte Ahmadi am Samstag in einem Interview mit dem in London ansässigen Sender Iran International. "Wenn ich könnte, würde ich dem Volk zur Seite stehen, damit wir gemeinsam die Freiheit erreichen können."
Die 22-Jährige hatte sich im vergangenen Jahr als einzige Iranerin für die Olympischen Winterspiele in Peking qualifiziert.
Im Iran wird seit Monaten gegen die Führung in Teheran protestiert. Die Proteste waren durch den Tod der Kurdin Mahsa Amini im September im Gewahrsam der Polizei entfacht worden. Die 22-Jährige war festgenommen worden, weil sie gegen die Kopftuch-Vorschrift verstoßen haben soll.
Die iranischen Sicherheitskräfte gehen mit aller Härte gegen die Demonstrantinnen und Demonstranten vor. Nach Angaben der in Oslo ansässigen NGO Iran Human Rights wurden bei der Niederschlagung der Proteste mindestens 488 Menschen getötet. Die iranische Justiz vollstreckte im Zusammenhang mit den Protesten vier Todesurteile.
Im Januar war bereits die iranische Schach-Großmeisterin Sara Chadem außer Landes geflohen. Die 25-Jährige begab sich zusammen mit ihrem Ehemann zusammen dem Filmregisseur Ardeschir Ahmadi, und ihrem zehnmonatigen Sohn nach Spanien ins Exil. Chadem war im Dezember ohne Kopftuch bei der Schnellschach-WM in Almaty in Kasachstan aufgetreten. Dies wurde von vielen als Geste der Solidarität mit der iranischen Protestbewegung gedeutet.
