Papst nach drei Nächten aus Krankenhaus entlassen
Papst Franziskus ist nach dreitägiger Behandlung aus dem Krankenhaus entlassen worden. "Ich lebe noch", scherzte der Pontifex beim Verlassen des Gemelli-Krankenhauses am Samstag in Rom. Der 86-Jährige war am Mittwoch mit Atembeschwerden in die Klinik eingeliefert worden. Es wurde bei ihm eine "infektiöse Bronchitis" festgestellt, die mit Antibiotika behandelt wurde.
Am Samstag grüßte der Papst Anhänger vor dem Krankenhaus und unterschrieb sogar auf dem Arm-Gipsverband eines Jungen. Im Anschluss machte er sich auf den Weg in den Vatikan, um sich auf die wichtigste Zeit im christlichen Kirchenjahr vorzubereiten.
Am Palmsonntag, dem Beginn der Karwoche, soll Franziskus dem Vatikan zufolge bereits die Messe auf dem Petersplatz leiten. Während der Messe wird er den Angaben zufolge sitzen bleiben, während ein hochrangiger Kardinal die Zeremonie am Altar vornehmen wird.
Franziskus' Krankenhausaufenthalt hatte große Besorgnis ausgelöst. Der Papst leidet schon seit längerem unter gesundheitlichen Beschwerden. Die Klinik-Einlieferung hatte Spekulationen über einen möglichen Amtsverzicht des Kirchenoberhaupts befeuert.
