Putin: Granatsplitter in Opfern von Prigoschins Flugzeugabsturz gefunden
Anderthalb Monate nach dem Tod von Wagner-Chef Jewgeni Prigoschin bei einem Flugzeugabsturz in Russland hat Kreml-Chef Wladimir Putin öffentlich erklärt, dass in den sterblichen Überresten der Absturzopfer Granatsplitter entdeckt worden seien. Der Leiter der Untersuchungskommission habe ihn vor wenigen Tagen über die Erkenntnisse informiert, sagte Putin am Donnerstag. "Fragmente von Handgranaten wurden in den Leichen der Absturzopfer gefunden", sagte er. Zugleich versicherte Putin: "Es gab keine äußere Einwirkung auf das Flugzeug."
Das Privatflugzeug mit dem Chef der russischen Söldnergruppe an Bord war am 23. August während eines Flugs von Moskau nach St. Petersburg abgestürzt. Neben dem Wagner-Chef starben dabei auch dessen Stellvertreter Dmitri Utkin sowie acht weitere Menschen.
Die russischen Ermittler äußerten sich nicht dazu, ob sie einen Mordanschlag, einen technischen Defekt oder menschliches Versagen als wahrscheinliche Absturzursache annehmen. Die Ukraine und westliche Länder hatten den Verdacht geäußert, dass es sich um einen Racheakt des Kreml handelte. Moskau wies dies zurück.
Prigoschin war nach dem Aufstand seiner Wagner-Truppe gegen die russische Militärführung am 23. Juni bei Putin in Ungnade gefallen. Der Kreml-Chef betrachtete den Wagner-Chef als Verräter.
