US-Medien: Trump plauderte geheime Informationen über Atom-U-Boote aus
Der ehemalige US-Präsident Donald Trump hat Medienberichten zufolge kurz nach Ende seiner Amtszeit auf seinem Anwesen Mar-a-Lago in Florida geheime Informationen über Atom-U-Boote gegenüber einem australischen Geschäftsmann ausgeplaudert. Wie die "New York Times" am Donnerstag berichtete, identifizierten anonyme Quellen den Mann als Milliardär Anthony Pratt, der eines der weltgrößten Verpackungs- und Papierunternehmen leitet.
Der Nachrichtensender ABC News berichtete, Pratt habe die Informationen später mit "zahlreichen weiteren Personen" geteilt. Unter Pratts Gesprächspartnern waren laut ABC "mehr als ein Dutzend ausländische Beamte, mehrere seiner eigenen Mitarbeiter und eine Handvoll Journalisten". Die "New York Times" zitierte Quellen, wonach Trumps Indiskretionen "potenziell die US-Atomflotte gefährdeten".
Bundesstaatsanwälte, die gegen Trump bereits wegen der Aufbewahrung geheimer Dokumente in Mar-a-Lago ermitteln, hätten Pratt zweimal wegen des Vorfalls befragt, hieß es in den Berichten. Der Australier könnte nun in dem Prozess, der im Mai in Florida beginnen soll, als Zeuge gegen den Ex-Präsidenten aussagen.
Pratt hatte Trump im April 2021 in dessen Golfclub in Palm Beach getroffen. Wie ABC weiter berichtete, äußerte der Geschäftsmann gegenüber dem Ex-Präsidenten die Ansicht, dass Australien seine U-Boote künftig von den USA kaufen sollte.
Trump habe Pratt daraufhin angeblich die genaue Zahl von Atomsprengköpfen genannt, die U-Boote der US-Marine normalerweise an Bord haben, und erzählt, wie nah sie sich russischen U-Booten nähern können, ohne erkannt zu werden.
