Mord in Zusammenhang mit Hawala-Banking: Prozess in Bochum begonnen
Vor dem Landgericht Bochum hat am Mittwoch ein Prozess um einen Mord zur Verdeckung von Betrugstaten im Zusammenhang mit sogenanntem Hawala-Banking begonnen. Die Staatsanwaltschaft wirft zwei Syrern und einem Schweden im Alter von 28, 31 und 54 Jahren vor, einen Kunden unter anderem aus Habgier erstochen zu haben. Das Opfer starb war im September 2023 auf offener Straße vor dem Ladenlokal in Recklinghausen.
Die Angeklagten äußerten sich laut einer Gerichtssprecherin zum Auftakt nicht zu den Vorwürfen. Die Staatsanwaltschaft wirft ihnen vor, den Mord zur Verdeckung von Betrugstaten in ihrem illegalen Hawala-Büro verübt zu haben. Bei dem in Deutschland verbotenen Hawala-Finanzsystem wird anonym gegen eine Provision Geld ins Ausland transferiert.
Die mutmaßlichen Hawala-Banker hätten zunächst das Vertrauen ihrer Kunden gewinnen wollen, um dann größere Geldbeträge nicht weiterzuleiten, sondern einzukassieren. So sei es auch dem späteren Todesopfer, einem 31-jährigen Syrer, widerfahren.
Die Angeklagten hätten im Juli 2023 rund 600 Euro des Manns einbehalten. Als der 31-Jährige die Verdächtigen im September zur Rede gestellt habe, hätten sie ihn mit zwei Messern erstochen. Das Gericht setzte zunächst weitere Verhandlungstage bis Mitte Juni fest.
