Brand mit zwei Toten an Rastanlage in Hessen offenbar auf Suizid zurückzuführen
Nach dem Feuer an der Rastanlage Langen-Bergheim Ost an der Autobahn 45 in Hessen mit zwei Toten hat die Polizei einen Suizid als mögliche Ursache festgestellt. Ein 61-Jähriger, der mit seinem Auto gegen die Zapfsäule gefahren sei, habe sich offenbar selbst töten wollen, teilten die Polizei Offenbach und die Staatsanwaltschaft Hanau am Dienstag mit. Er wurde anschließend tot in seinem Auto gefunden. Der zweite Tote, der in unmittelbarer Nähe gefunden wurde, wurde den Ermittlungen zufolge von Trümmerteilen erschlagen.
Ein Gutachter soll den genauen Hergang des Vorfalls rekonstruieren. Ergebnisse einer Obduktionen standen noch aus. Am Montagmittag war an der Tankstelle ein Auto mit zwei Zapfsäulen kollidiert und hatte diese umgerissen. Daraufhin brach ein Feuer aus, das den Wagen und ein weiteres Fahrzeug erfasste.
Nach Angaben der Polizei berichteten Zeugen den Einsatzkräften von einer kleinen Explosion, die dem Brand vorausging. Neben der Tankstelle wurde auch das angrenzende Restaurant der Raststätte in Mitleidenschaft gezogen. Die Feuerwehr hatte den Brand den Angaben zufolge nach gut 45 Minuten gelöscht.
