Ukraine wirft Russland nach Gefangenenaustausch "brutale" Folter vor
Viele der im größten Häftlingsaustausch seit Kriegsbeginn von Russland an die Ukraine zurückgegebenen Gefangenen weisen nach Angaben aus Kiew Folterspuren auf. "Viele von ihnen wurden brutal gefoltert", sagte der ukrainische Geheimdienstchef Kyrylo Budanow am Donnerstag auf einer Pressekonferenz, ohne Einzelheiten zur Foltermethode zu nennen.
Es gebe auch Gefangene, deren körperlicher Zustand "mehr oder weniger normal ist, abgesehen von chronischer Unterernährung durch die schlechten Haftbedingungen", sagte er weiter. Laut dem ukrainischen Innenminister Denys Monastyrsky benötigen alle eingetauschten Ukrainer eine psychologische Behandlung.
Bei dem Austausch, an dem Geheimdienstchef Budanow beteiligt war, wurden 250 Ukrainer und zehn Menschen anderer Nationalitäten in die Ukraine gebracht. Sie waren in verschiedenen Einrichtungen in den von russischen Truppen besetzten ukrainischen Gebieten sowie in Russland gefangen gehalten worden. Unter ihnen waren auch hochrangige Kommandeure der Kämpfer aus dem Asow-Stahlwerk in Mariupol.
Nach Russland wurden im Zuge des Austauschs 55 Militärs zurückgeschickt. Zudem wurde der ukrainische Multimillionär Viktor Medwedtschuk nach Russland gebracht. Er gilt als enger Vertrauter von Kreml-Chef Wladimir Putin und wurde als dessen Mann in der Ukraine betitelt.
