Drei Tote bei Angriff pakistanischer Taliban auf Polizeikontrolle in Islamabad
Bei einem Angriff pakistanischer Taliban-Kämpfer auf einen Kontrollposten der Polizei sind in Islamabad ein Beamter getötet und zwei weitere verletzt worden. Nach Polizeiangaben schossen zwei Bewaffnete auf einem Motorrad am Montagabend (Ortszeit) auf den Kontrollposten im Zentrum der pakistanischen Hauptstadt. Die Polizisten töteten demnach beide Angreifer. Die pakistanischen Taliban Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) bekannten sich zu dem Überfall.
Der pakistanische Innenminister Rashid Ahmed warnte vor weiteren möglichen Anschlägen in der Hauptstadt. Der "erste terroristische Zwischenfall des Jahres" sei ein "Signal, dass terroristische Aktivitäten in Islamabad begonnen haben".
"Wir sind stolz auf diese Helden, und unsere Kämpfer werden weiterhin in ihre Fußstapfen treten", erklärte die Gruppe TTP. Pakistan kämpft derzeit mit einem Wiedererstarken der radikalislamischen Taliban. Im Nachbarland Afghanistan befinden sich die Taliban seit August wieder an der Macht. Die pakistanischen Taliban unter dem Kürzel TTP sind allerdings eigenständig.
Die pakistanische Regierung hatte Ende vergangenen Jahres einen einmonatigen Waffenstillstand mit der TTP ausgehandelt. Dieser lief jedoch aus, nachdem die Friedensgespräche keine Fortschritte machten. Die TTP wird für hunderte Selbstmordattentate und Entführungen in ganz Pakistan verantwortlich gemacht.
