Filmemacher Wim Wenders Ehrengast beim Festival Lumière in Lyon
Der deutsche Filmemacher Wim Wenders ist in diesem Jahr als Ehrengast zum Festival Lumière in Lyon eingeladen. Dort werde er auch mit dem renommierten französischen Filmpreis Prix Lumière ausgezeichnet, teilte das Festival am Dienstag mit. Wenders sei ein "reisender Kinomacher, ein vielschichtiger und visionärer Virtuose und ein vollendeter Fotograf, der sich immer wieder neu erfindet", heißt es weiter.
Bei einer Retrospektive werden seine bekanntesten Filme zu sehen sein, etwa "Buena Vista Social Club", "Paris, Texas" und "Der Himmel über Berlin". Der 78-Jährige stellt zudem seine beiden jüngsten Filme vor, mit denen er im Frühjahr beim Filmfestival in Cannes vertreten war.
Im Wettbewerb lief "Perfect Days", der die Geschichte eines feinsinnigen Toiletten-Putzmanns in Tokio erzählt. Der japanische Schauspieler Koji Yakusho wurde in Cannes für seine Rolle als bester männlicher Darsteller ausgezeichnet. In einer Nebenreihe wurde "Anselm, das Rauschen der Zeit" gezeigt, ein 3D-Dokumentarfilm über den in Frankreich lebenden deutschen Künstler Anselm Kiefer.
Die Preisverleihung in Lyon findet am 20. Oktober statt. Das Festival Lumière ist benannt nach den Brüdern Lumière, die als Erfinder des Kinos gelten. Es wurde von Thierry Frémaux gegründet, dem Leiter des Filmfestivals von Cannes. Den Prix Lumière, der zum 15. Mal verliehen wird, hatten zuvor unter anderen Martin Scorsese, Pedro Almodóvar und Quentin Tarantino erhalten.
