Umfrage: Mehr als ein Drittel liest zumindest hin und wieder E-Books
Mehr als ein Drittel der Deutschen liest einer Umfrage zufolge zumindest hin und wieder E-Books. Jeder Zehnte lese seine Bücher überwiegend auf einem digitalen Gerät, teilte der Digitalverband Bitkom am Mittwoch anlässlich der Eröffnung der Frankfurter Buchmesse mit. 15 weitere Prozent greifen zu gleichen Teilen zu digitalen und gedruckten Büchern. Elf Prozent lesen häufiger gedruckte Bücher.
Vor allem Jüngere greifen auf das E-Book zurück. Die Hälfte der 16- bis 29-Jährigen benutzt den E-Reader zumindest hin und wieder. Bei den Befragten über 65 Jahren sind es 15 Prozent. Diese Altersgruppe liest zu 54 Prozent ausschließlich gedruckte Bücher.
83 Prozent derjenigen, die E-Books lesen, kaufen sie auch. Im Schnitt geben sie dafür 9,70 Euro im Monat aus. 62 Prozent zahlen jedoch im Schnitt mindestens zehn Euro im Monat. 53 Prozent der digitalen Leser leihen sich ihre E-Books aus. Im Vorjahr lag dieser Wert noch bei 65 Prozent. Für das Ausleihen geben sie im Schnitt 6,90 Euro aus.
Die Funktion, sich die digitalen Bücher vorlesen zu lassen, nutzten bislang nur vier Prozent. Während sich 70 Prozent derjenigen, die E-Books lesen, die Nutzung dieses Angebots vorstellen können, bevorzugt knapp jeder Fünfte das klassische Lesen.
"Ob im Zug, am Strand oder auf dem Sofa – E-Books lassen sich nicht nur leicht überall mit hin nehmen, sondern bieten auch von überall Zugriff auf eine große Vielfalt an neuem Lesestoff", erklärte Sebastian Klöß von Bitkom. Die Zahl der verfügbaren E-Books wachse. Gerade für Ältere seien sie eine interessante Alternative, weil sich die Schriftgröße anpassen lasse. Für die Umfrage wurden 1178 Menschen ab 16 Jahren telefonisch befragt.
