Deutschland hat im laufenden Jahr fast viermal so viele Feuerwerkskörper importiert wie im Vorjahr. Verglichen mit den ersten drei Quartalen 2022 stieg die Zahl um 283 Prozent auf 24.400 Tonnen bis Ende September, wie das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden am Dienstag erklärte. Das Vor-Corona-Niveau wurde damit allerdings noch nicht erreicht.
Von Januar bis September 2019 lagen die Importe von Raketen, Böllern und Co. mit 29.800 Tonnen 18 Prozent über der diesjährigen Zahl. Im vergangenen Jahr wurden indes nur 6400 Tonnen importiert, davor lag die Zahl aufgrund eines Verkaufsverbotes noch niedriger. Auch im vergangenen Jahr wurde über ein Verbot diskutiert.
Mit einem Anteil von 95 Prozent kamen fast alle von Januar bis September eingeführten Feuerwerkskörper aus China, erläuterten die Statistiker. Die chinesischen Importe nach Deutschland machten in den vergangenen 20 Jahren durchgängig mehr als 90 Prozent der eingeführten Knaller aus.
Klar gestiegen seien derweil die Exportzahlen - nicht nur verglichen mit dem Vorjahr, sondern auch mit 2019. Bis Ende September dieses Jahres wurden 4900 Tonnen an Raketen und Böllern ins Ausland exportiert, im Vorjahreszeitraum waren es gut 2700 Tonnen, 2019 knapp 2000 Tonnen, so das Statistikamt. Wichtigste Abnehmer von Feuerwerkskörpern aus Deutschland sind die Niederlande (73 Prozent), Italien (11 Prozent) und Belgien (8 Prozent).
