Filmfestival von Venedig beginnt
In Venedig werden am Mittwoch (19.00 Uhr) die alljährlichen Filmfestspiele eröffnet. 90 Jahre nach dem ersten Filmfestival am Lido werden bei der 79. Ausgabe der Mostra wieder eine ganze Reihe von Stars auf dem roten Teppich erwartet. Eröffnet wird das Festival mit dem Film "White Noise" von US-Regisseur Noah Baumbach mit Adam Driver und Greta Gerwig in den Hauptrollen, der auch im Wettbewerb um den "Goldenen Löwen" für den besten Film konkurriert.
Insgesamt werben bis zum 10. September 23 Filme um die Gunst der Jury unter Leitung von US-Schauspielerin Julianne Moore. Dominiert wird die Auswahl von Filmen aus Hollywood und Westeuropa, unter anderem sind die Star-Regisseure Darren Aronofsky und Alejandro González Iñárritu mit ihren neuen Filmen dabei. Eine der wenigen Ausnahmen ist "No Bears" des iranischen Filmemachers Jafar Panahi, der im Iran im Gefängnis sitzt.
