Popstar Kris Wu in China wegen Vergewaltigung zu 13 Jahren Haft verurteilt
Der chinesisch-kanadische Popstar Kris Wu ist einem Prozess wegen Vergewaltigung zu 13 Jahren Haft verurteilt worden. Ein Gericht in Peking sprach den 32-Jährigen am Freitag schuldig. Wegen des Vorwurfs der Vergewaltigung wurde Wu mit einer elfeinhalbjährigen Haftstrafe belegt, hinzu kam eine Strafe von einem Jahr und zehn Monaten "wegen des Verbrechens der Versammlung von Menschen zum Ehebruch". Nachdem er seine Strafe verbüßt hat, soll Wu nach Kanada abgeschoben werden.
Der Superstar habe im November und Dezember 2020 in seiner Wohnung drei Frauen zum Sex gezwungen, als diese "betrunken waren und nicht in der Lage waren, sich zu wehren", hieß es in dem Urteil.
Wu war als Mitglied der K-Pop-Boyband EXO berühmt geworden. 2014 startete er eine erfolgreiche Solokarriere als Sänger, Schauspieler und Model.
Im vergangenen Jahr erhob die 19-jährige Studentin Du Meizhu dann Anschuldigungen gegen den Popstar. Sie sei im Alter von 17 Jahren von ihm vergewaltigt worden, erklärte Du. Anschließend meldeten sich weitere mutmaßliche Opfer im Internet zu Wort und beschuldigten Wus Mitarbeiter, sie unter anderem zu alkoholgeschwängerten Karaoke-Partys eingeladen zu haben.
