Grüne fordern staatliche Eingriffe bei an Inflation gekoppelten Indexmieten
Angesichts stark steigender Lebenshaltungskosten haben sich die Grünen im Bundestag für staatliche Eingriffe bei sogenannten Indexmieten ausgesprochen. Deren Höhe ist an die Inflationsentwicklung gekoppelt. "Indexmieten sind ein Problem, das wir angehen müssen. Die Inflation ist so stark gestiegen, dass es für viele Mieter ein Schock wird, wenn die Erhöhung kommt", sagte Fraktionschefin Katharina Dröge den Zeitungen der Funke Mediengruppe (Montagausgaben). Es brauche eine Lösung.
Erst kürzlich hatte der Deutsche Mieterbund eine drastische Zunahmen von Indexmietverträgen beklagt. Laut einer von ihm initiierten Untersuchung in sechs Großstädten war demnach im vergangenen Jahr im Schnitt jeder dritte neue Mietvertrag an die Inflation gekoppelt. Der Verband forderte ein Verbot derartiger Neuverträge und sprach sich für die Einführung einer Kappungsgrenze bei bestehenden Verträgen aus, also eine Art Deckelung.
Dröge äußerte sich mit Blick auf mögliche Gegenmaßnahmen ähnlich. "Das kann zum Beispiel heißen, dass bestehende Indexmietverträge gedeckelt und neue härter reguliert werden", sagte sie. Diese Schritte gingen zwar über die mit SPD und FDP im Ampel-Koalitionsvertrag festgelegten Vorhaben hinaus. "Aber wir müssen mit den Koalitionspartnern besprechen, wie wir Indexmieten regulieren können", fügte die Vorsitzende der Grünen-Bundestagsfraktion an.
