Angreiferin erschießt an US-Grundschule drei Kinder und drei Erwachsene
Bei einem Schusswaffenangriff an einer Grundschule im US-Bundesstaat Tennessee hat eine Angreiferin drei Kinder und drei Erwachsene getötet. Die mit mindestens zwei Schnellfeuergewehren und einer Pistole bewaffnete Schützin - mutmaßlich eine Teenagerin - sei von eintreffenden Polizisten erschossen worden, sagte Polizeivertreter Don Aaron in der Stadt Nashville am Montag. Die genaue Identität der Täterin war zunächst unklar. Bei den erwachsenen Opfern handelt es sich um Schulangestellte.
Die Polizei wurde den Angaben zufolge um 10.13 Uhr Ortszeit wegen eines Schusswaffenangriffs in der christlichen Privatschule The Covenant School in Nashville alarmiert. Die eintreffenden Beamten begannen das Erdgeschoss des Gebäudes zu räumen und hörten dann Schüsse aus dem ersten Stock, wie Aaron schilderte. Dort stießen die Polizisten auf die Angreiferin und erschossen sie.
In den USA kommt es regelmäßig zu tödlichen Schusswaffenangriffen. Betroffen sind immer wieder auch Schulen. So erschoss im vergangenen Mai ein 18-Jähriger an einer Grundschule der texanischen Kleinstadt Uvalde 19 Kinder und zwei Lehrerinnen.
