Großhandelspreise im Februar um fast 17 Prozent gestiegen
Die stark gestiegenen Preise für Mineralölprodukte und andere wichtige Rohstoffe haben die Großhandelspreise nach oben getrieben: Sie lagen im Februar um 16,6 Prozent über dem Wert vom Februar 2021, wie das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden am Montag mitteilte. Der Großhandelspreisindex kann demnach als Frühindikator angesehen werden: Er zeigt die Preisentwicklung in vorgelagerten Bereichen an, die sich später in den Verkaufspreisen der Abnehmer der Großhandelswaren niederschlägt.
Den größten Einfluss auf den hohen Anstieg der Großhandelspreise hat schon seit Monaten der Preisanstieg im Großhandel mit Mineralölerzeugnissen. Im Februar betrug er laut Statistik 43,6 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahresmonat.
Besonders kräftige Preisanstiege gegenüber dem Vorjahr gab es auch im Großhandel mit Altmaterial und Reststoffen (plus 46,0 Prozent), mit Roh- und Schnittholz (plus 44,0 Prozent) sowie mit Erzen, Metallen und Metallhalbzeug (plus 43,4 Prozent), wie das Statistikamt mitteilte. Erheblich höher waren demnach auch die Preise im Großhandel mit chemischen Erzeugnissen, mit Metall- und Kunststoffwaren für Bauzwecke sowie mit Getreide, Rohtabak, Saatgut und Futtermitteln.
Der Anstieg der Großhandelspreise hat sich in den vergangenen Monaten beschleunigt: Im Januar betrug der Anstieg zum Vorjahresmonat 16,2 Prozent, im Dezember waren es 16,1 Prozent. Die Entwicklung dürfte sich fortsetzen, denn die "aktuellen Preisentwicklungen im Zusammenhang mit dem Angriff Russlands auf die Ukraine sind in den Ergebnissen nicht enthalten", wie die Statistiker betonten.
