Umsatzminus im Einzelhandel im Februar - Geschäftsklima hellt sich vor Ostern auf
Die Unternehmen des deutschen Einzelhandels haben im Februar im Monatsvergleich und im Jahresvergleich Umsatzeinbußen hinnehmen müssen: Nach Angaben des Statistischen Bundesamts in Wiesbaden vom Donnerstag lag der reale Umsatz im vergangenen Monat 1,9 Prozent unter dem vom Januar, verglichen mit Februar 2023 ergibt sich ein reales Minus von 2,7 Prozent.
Nominal beträgt das Minus zum Vorjahresmonat nur 0,4 Prozent - die Differenz spiegelt das gestiegene Preisniveau wider. Besonders deutlich ist dieser Effekt bei den Lebensmitteln, hier stieg der nominale Umsatz im Jahresvergleich um 0,7 Prozent, wie die Statistiker weiter mitteilten.
Das Geschäftsklima im deutschen Einzelhandel hellte sich unterdessen vor Ostern spürbar auf. Wie das Münchner Ifo-Institut mitteilte, stieg der Indikator zur Bewertung der aktuellen Geschäftslage im März auf minus 7,3 Punkte, nach minus 18,1 Punkten im Februar. Auch die Geschäftserwartungen verbesserten sich deutlich. Das Ostergeschäft sei für viele Einzelhändler "offenbar ein Lichtblick gewesen", argumentierte das Ifo, das gelte besonders bei Süßwaren.
Preiserhöhungen planen in den nächsten Monaten dem Forschungsinstitut zufolge nur noch so wenige Einzelhändler wie zuletzt vor drei Jahren. Auch der Anteil der Einzelhändler, die von Lieferengpässen betroffen sind, fiel auf 29,1 Prozent, nach 32,6 Prozent im Februar.
