Medien-Aktie von Ex-US-Präsident Trump abgestürzt
Zum Beginn des Schweigegeld-Prozesses gegen Donald Trump sind die Aktien der Mediengruppe des früheren US-Präsidenten an der New Yorker Wall Street abgestürzt. Die Anteile der Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) fielen am Montagmorgen (Ortszeit) um 15,91 Prozent auf 27,41 Dollar. Die Bewertung des Unternehmens, dessen Aktie unter dem Kürzel DJT gehandelt wird, ist damit seit Börsengang um zwei Drittel geschrumpft.
Am seinem ersten Handelstag am 26. März war DJT mit fast elf Milliarden Dollar bewertet worden. Am Montagmorgen lag das Unternehmen bei 3,7 Milliarden Dollar.
Trump hatte TMTG für die Einrichtung seines Onlinenetzwerks Truth Social gegründet, er hält fast 60 Prozent der Aktien. Für den Gang an die Börse war TMTG mit dem Partnerunternehmen Digital World Acquisition (DWAC) fusioniert.
Der spektakuläre Absturz der Aktie erfolgte am Tag des Auftakts eines historischen Prozesses gegen Trump. Der wahrscheinliche Präsidentschaftskandidat der Republikaner wird in dem Verfahren beschuldigt, Geschäftspapiere gefälscht zu haben, um eine Schweigegeldzahlung an die frühere Pornodarstellerin Stormy Daniels vor der Präsidentschaftswahl 2016 zu vertuschen. Der 77-Jährige hat auf nicht schuldig plädiert.
