IWF senkt erneut Wachstumserwartung für Deutschland
Der Internationale Währungsfonds (IWF) hat erneut die Wachstumserwartungen für Deutschland gesenkt. Im Jahr 2024 sei nur noch mit einer Zunahme der Wirtschaftsleistung um 0,2 Prozent zu rechnen, heißt es in der am Dienstag vorgestellten Wachstumsprognose. Im Januar hatten die Experten noch 0,5 Prozent Wachstum prognostiziert, im Oktober noch 0,9 Prozent.
Bereits im vergangenen Jahr war Deutschland das einzige Land in der Gruppe der Industriestaaten, dessen Wirtschaftsleistung sank - um 0,3 Prozent. Nach der aktualisierten Prognose bleibt die deutsche Wirtschaft auch in diesem Jahr das Schlusslicht.
Auf das Wachstum der Eurozone wirkten sich die verschlechterten Aussichten Deutschlands sowie die ebenfalls um 0,3 Prozentpunkte nach unten korrigierte Angabe für Frankreich negativ aus, erklärte der IWF. Allerdings werde dies "durch Aufwertungen für mehrere kleinere Volkswirtschaften, darunter Belgien und Portugal, weitgehend ausgeglichen". Die Wirtschaft der Eurozone dürfte demnach insgesamt um 0,8 Prozent wachsen.
Für das kommende Jahr senkte der Währungsfonds die Prognose für Deutschland ebenfalls um 0,3 Prozentpunkte. Mit erwarteten 1,3 Prozent Wachstum läge die deutsche Wirtschaft 2025 immerhin vor Italien (0,7 Prozent) und Großbritannien (1,0 Prozent), aber weiterhin deutlich unter dem Schnitt der Industriestaaten (1,8 Prozent).
