E-Auto-Hersteller aus Vietnam steigert Umsatz stark - macht aber weiter Verlust
Der vietnamesische Elektroautohersteller Vinfast hat seinen Umsatz im ersten Quartal des neuen Jahres erneut deutlich gesteigert. Der Gesamtumsatz in den drei Monaten betrug rund 303 Millionen Dollar (284 Millionen Euro), wie das Unternehmen am Mittwoch mitteilte. Das war ein Anstieg um 270 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahresquartal. Gleichzeitig machte Vinfast fast 620 Millionen Dollar Verlust.
Das Unternehmen will den internationalen Markt erobern und hat als Ziel ausgegeben, in diesem Jahr insgesamt 100.000 Elektroautos herzustellen. Im ersten Quartal lieferte der Hersteller den Angaben zufolge 9689 Elektroautos aus.
Seit Anfang des Jahres erweiterte Vinfast seine internationale Präsenz, indem das Unternehmen Verträge mit Händlern in Indonesien, Thailand und Oman unterzeichnete. Außerdem begann der Bau einer Fabrik in Indien.
Auch in den USA plant Vinfast ein Werk inklusive Batteriefabrik in North Carolina. Dort sollen ab 2025 jährlich 150.000 Autos vom Band laufen. Nach Angaben von Vinfast haben schon mehr als 20.000 Menschen in den USA ein Modell bestellt.
Vinfast ging im August in den USA an die Börse. Zunächst schoss die Aktie nach oben, bevor sie deutlich abstürzte. Unternehmenschef ist Vietnams reichster Mensch, Pham Nhat Vuong, dem der Vinfast-Mutterkonzern Vingroup gehört.
