Alemães são presos por supostamente espionarem a mando da China
Três alemães acusados de espionar para os serviços secretos chineses (MSS) foram detidos nesta segunda-feira (22) no oeste da Alemanha, anunciou o Ministério Público Federal (MPF) em um comunicado.
"Há uma forte suspeita" de que as três pessoas, identificadas como Herwig F., Ina F. e Thomas R., "trabalharam para um serviço secreto chinês a partir de uma data não definida, antes de junho de 2022", disse o MPF, responsável pelos casos de espionagem na Alemanha.
"Thomas R. trabalhava como agente para um membro do MSS na China. Ele coletou informações na Alemanha sobre tecnologias inovadoras que podem ser usadas para fins militares", acrescentou o órgão.
Herwig F. e Ina F., proprietários de uma empresa em Düsseldorf, teriam servido como intermediários com pessoas do mundo da ciência e da pesquisa.
A embaixada chinesa em Berlim rejeitou "firmemente" as acusações de ter realizado atividades de espionagem na Alemanha, informou a agência estatal de notícias Xinhua nesta terça-feira (23, tarde de segunda em Brasília).
"Pedimos à parte alemã que pare de usar a acusação de espionagem para manipular politicamente a imagem da China e difamá-la", disse a embaixada em comunicado enviado à Xinhua.
