Lange verschollenes Klimt-Gemälde für 30 Millionen Euro versteigert
Ein jahrzehntelang verschollenes Gemälde des berühmten Jugendstil-Künstlers Gustav Klimt hat bei einer Auktion in Wien 30 Millionen Euro Erlös erbracht. Trotz Zweifeln an der Herkunft des Bildes erzielte "Bildnis Fräulein Lieser" damit am Mittwoch einen Rekordpreis für eine Versteigerung in Österreich. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Wert des Gemäldes vor der Auktion auf 30 bis 50 Millionen Euro geschätzt.
Zuletzt öffentlich gezeigt wurde das Bildnis einer dunkelhaarigen jungen Frau mit reich verziertem Umhang vermutlich 1925 bei einer Kunstausstellung in Wien. Danach blieb das Werk fast ein Jahrhundert lang verschwunden. Das bisher teuerste jemals in Österreich versteigerte Gemälde war 2010 auf sieben Millionen Euro gekommen.
Werke von Gustav Klimt kommen nur sehr selten auf den freien Markt. Im Juni vergangenen Jahres wurde Klimts "Dame mit Fächer" in London für den Rekordpreis von 74 Millionen Pfund (86 Millionen Euro) versteigert.
