Über ein Viertel der Rentner hat netto weniger als tausend Euro im Monat
Mehr als ein Viertel der Rentnerinnen und Rentner in Deutschland hat ein monatliches Nettoeinkommen von weniger als tausend Euro zur Verfügung. Das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden veröffentlichte am Donnerstag Zahlen für 2021 - da fielen 4,9 Millionen der Rentenbeziehenden und damit 27,8 Prozent unter diese Schwelle. Bei Frauen war der Anteil mit 38,2 Prozent deutlich höher - bei Männern waren es nur 14,7 Prozent.
Ältere Menschen sind auch deutlich häufiger erwerbstätig als noch vor zehn Jahren. So arbeiteten 2021 nach Angaben der Statistiker 12,9 Prozent der 65- bis unter 75-Jährigen. Zehn Jahre zuvor waren es noch 7,0 Prozent. Wer einen Hochschulabschluss hatte, war häufiger erwerbstätig, außerdem war der Anteil unter den Männern höher als unter den Frauen.
Für 40,8 Prozent der älteren Erwerbstätigen war die ausgeübte Tätigkeit die vorwiegende Quelle des Lebensunterhalts. Für die Mehrheit der 65- bis unter 75-jährigen Erwerbstätigen (55,9 Prozent) war dieses Einkommen aber ein Zuverdienst, sie lebten in erster Linie von ihrer Rente beziehungsweise von ihrem Vermögen.
Auf staatliche Unterstützung angewiesen waren 3,4 Prozent der Seniorinnen und Senioren im Jahr 2021. Bei Ausländern war der Anteil mit 17,5 Prozent besonders hoch.
