Macron schlägt Luc Rémont für EDF-Spitze vor
Frankreichs Präsident Emmanuel Macron hat den Schneider-Electric-Manager Luc Rémont für die Spitze des Energiekonzerns EDF vorgeschlagen. Das Parlament müsse diesem Vorschlag noch zustimmen, heißt es in einer am Donnerstag veröffentlichten Mitteilung des Élysées. Der 53-jährige Rémont ist derzeit Generaldirektor für internationale Aufgaben bei Schneider Electric und hatte zuvor mehrere Beraterposten im Wirtschafts- und Finanzministerium.
Der Energiekonzern EDF befindet sich zu 84 Prozent in staatlicher Hand und soll demnächst wieder komplett verstaatlicht werden. Rémont soll den bisherigen EDF-Chef Jean-Bernard Lévy ablösen, der noch vor Erreichen der Altersgrenze vorzeitig ausscheidet. Das Unternehmen, das die 56 französischen Atomreaktoren betreibt, ist finanziell schwer angeschlagen.
Die Regierung hatte das Unternehmen angesichts der hohen Energiepreise verpflichtet, mehr Strom als bislang üblich unter dem Marktpreis an Konkurrenten abzugeben, um die Verbraucher vor hohen Preisen zu schützen. Die Schulden des Unternehmens könnten bis Ende des Jahres auf 60 Milliarden Euro ansteigen.
