Sixt bestellt mehrere tausend E-Autos beim chinesischen Hersteller BYD
Die Autovermietung Sixt hat "mehrere tausend" Elektroautos beim chinesischen Hersteller BYD bestellt und den Kauf von "rund 100.000 weiteren Elektrofahrzeugen in den folgenden sechs Jahren" vereinbart. Kundinnen und Kunden von Sixt in Deutschland, Frankreich, den Niederlanden und Großbritannien sollen bereits im vierten Quartal, also ab Oktober, ein E-Auto von BYD mieten können, wie beide Unternehmen am Dienstag mitteilten. Sixt hatte kürzlich angekündigt, den E-Auto-Anteil in seiner Flotte "deutlich" zu erhöhen.
BYD startet im Herbst auch den Verkauf seiner Autos in Europa: die Limousine Han, den SUV Tang und den Kompakt-SUV Atto 3. Den SUV nimmt Sixt in seine Flotte auf, wie das Unternehmen mitteilte.
Bei Sixt sollen bis 2030 rund 70 bis 90 Prozent aller Autos elektrisch fahren. Dazu baut das Unternehmen eine eigene Ladeinfrastruktur auf.
Sixt-Manager Vinzenz Pflanz erklärte, BYD sei mit über einer Million produzierter Fahrzeuge im Zeitraum von Januar bis August 2022 der weltweit größte Fahrzeughersteller im Bereich Elektromobilität. BYD (Build your dreams) war 1995 als Hersteller wiederaufladbarer Batterien gegründet worden. Nach eigenen Angaben ist das Unternehmen heute in über 70 Ländern und Regionen vertreten. Es ist an den Börsen von Hongkong und Shenzhen notiert. Hauptsitz in Europa ist Rotterdam.
