Schülerzahl wird bis 2035 voraussichtlich um knapp eine Million steigen
Die Zahl der Schülerinnen und Schüler in Deutschland wird sich bis zum Jahr 2035 voraussichtlich auf 11,7 Millionen erhöhen. Das wären etwa 922.000 mehr als im Jahr 2021, wie die Kultusministerkonferenz (KMK) am Freitag in Berlin unter Berufung auf eine Vorausberechnung mitteilte. Dabei soll das Wachstum in den einzelnen Bundesländern unterschiedlich stark ausfallen.
Während in den ostdeutschen Flächenländern zunächst ein moderater Anstieg und ab 2027 ein Sinken der Zahlen zu erwarten sei, solle die Schülerzahl in den westdeutschen Flächenländern bis 2035 um 10,2 Prozent ansteigen. In den Stadtstaaten seien es voraussichtlich sogar 11,7 Prozent.
Die KMK erwartet, dass die Zahl der Schulabgängerinnen und -abgänger mit Abitur oder Fachhochschulreife um 12,8 Prozent auf 448.000 ansteigt. Voraussichtlich 50.000 Jugendliche würden die Schule 2035 ohne Hauptschulabschluss verlassen, das wären 7,2 Prozent mehr als 2021.
