US-Pharmariese Pfizer erzielt 2022 Rekordumsatz
Der US-Pharmariese Pfizer hat im vergangenen Jahr einen Rekordumsatz erzielt, erwartet für 2023 aber einen starken Rückgang der Verkäufe seines zusammen mit dem deutschen Unternehmen Biontech entwickelten Corona-Impfstoffs. Pfizer verbuchte 2022 einen Umsatz von 100,3 Milliarden Dollar (rund 92 Milliarden Euro), wie der Konzern am Dienstag mitteilte. Das war ein Zuwachs um 23 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahr und der höchste Umsatz der Unternehmensgeschichte.
Der Gewinn legte gar um 43 Prozent auf 31,4 Milliarden Dollar zu. Für das laufende Jahr erwartet Pfizer einen deutlichen Umsatzrückgang auf zwischen 67 und 71 Milliarden Dollar. Grund sind eine prognostizierte deutliche Abnahme der Verkäufe des Corona-Impfstoffs Comirnaty und des Corona-Medikaments Paxlovid. Erwartet wird ein Rückgang der Verkäufe um 64 beziehungsweise 58 Prozent.
Für 2024 rechnet Pfizer dann wieder mit einer Zunahme der Verkäufe seiner Corona-Produkte. Die Delle 2023 begründet der Konzern damit, dass die Staaten derzeit eine große Menge der Produkte gelagert hätten.
