Gesundheitsausgaben 2022 auf Höchststand gestiegen
Auch im dritten Coronajahr 2022 sind die Gesundheitsausgaben auf einen neuen Höchststand gestiegen. Wie das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden am Donnerstag mitteilte, kletterten sie auf insgesamt 497,7 Milliarden Euro, das waren 5939 Euro pro Einwohnerin und Einwohner. Für 2023 erwarten die Statistiker einen leichten Rückgang.
Verglichen mit dem Jahr 2021 stiegen die Ausgaben im Gesundheitsbereich um 22,6 Milliarden Euro oder 4,8 Prozent. Spürbaren Einfluss darauf hatten Pandemie-Maßnahmen. Tests waren für über 40 Prozent der Ausgaben für Corona-Maßnahmen im Gesundheitswesen verantwortlich. Selbsttests, die in Drogerien oder Supermärkten gekauft werden konnten, sind in der Rechnung nicht enthalten. Für die Impfkampagne wurden laut Statistikamt 2022 etwa 9,4 Milliarden Euro ausgegeben.
Seit Beginn der Corona-Pandemie zum Jahresanfang 2020 bis Ende 2022 stiegen die Ausgaben um insgesamt 20 Prozent. Etwas niedriger lag 2022 nach Angaben der Statistiker der Anteil der Gesundheitsangaben am Bruttoinlandsprodukt (BIP) mit 12,8 Prozent. 2021 hatte er noch 0,3 Prozentpunkte höher gelegen.
Mit 53,3 Prozent oder 265,4 Milliarden Euro trug die gesetzliche Krankenversicherung erneut den größten Anteil an den Ausgaben im Gesundheitswesen. Dies waren vier Prozent mehr als ein Jahr zuvor. Für den zweitgrößten Anteil - 11,6 Prozent oder 57,7 Milliarden Euro - kam die soziale Pflegeversicherung auf. Dahinter folgten private Haushalte und Organisationen mit einem Anteil von 11,4 Prozent sowie die privaten Krankenversicherungen mit 7,7 Prozent oder 38,3 Milliarden Euro.
Für 2023 erwartet das Statistikamt einen leichten Rückgang der Gesundheitsausgaben auf 494,6 Milliarden Euro. Damit wäre das Jahr 2023 erst das zweite Jahr mit einem Rückgang der Gesundheitsausgaben seit Beginn der Berechnungen im Jahr 1992.
