Deutsche Wirtschaft schrumpft im vierten Quartal um 0,7 Prozent
Die deutsche Wirtschaft ist im vergangenen Jahr etwas stärker gewachsen als zunächst angenommen - im vierten Quartal hat es allerdings einen herben Einbruch gegeben. Wie das Statistische Bundesamt am Freitag in Wiesbaden mitteilte, legte das Bruttoinlandsprodukt (BIP) 2021 um 2,8 Prozent zu. In seiner Schätzung von Anfang Januar war das Bundesamt noch von einem Anstieg der Wirtschaftsleistung um 2,7 Prozent im Gesamtjahr ausgegangen. Im vierten Quartal gab es einen deutlichen BIP-Rückgang um 0,7 Prozent gegenüber dem Vorquartal.
"Nachdem die Wirtschaftsleistung im Sommer trotz zunehmender Liefer- und Materialengpässe wieder gewachsen war, wurde die Erholung der deutschen Wirtschaft durch die vierte Corona-Welle und erneute Verschärfungen der Corona-Schutzmaßnahmen zum Jahresende gestoppt", erklärte das Bundesamt. Besonders der private Konsum nahm gegenüber dem Vorquartal demnach ab. Auch die Bauinvestitionen gingen zurück. Die staatlichen Konsumausgaben stiegen hingegen. Im ersten Corona-Jahr 2020 war die deutsche Wirtschaft wegen der Pandemie um 4,6 Prozent eingebrochen.
