Waldbrand im Harz unter Kontrolle
Drei Tage nach dem Ausbruch eines Waldbrands im Nationalpark Harz ist das Feuer unter Kontrolle. Wie das Landratsamt des Landkreises Harz in Halberstadt erklärte, waren am Dienstag weiterhin rund 180 Feuerwehrleute im Einsatz. Zuvor waren es in der Spitze bis zu 300 Brandbekämpfer gewesen.
Ein Feuerwehrmann wurde am Montag schwer verletzt, als es bei den Löscharbeiten an einem Gerät zu einer Verpuffung kam. Ein Rettungshubschrauber brachte ihn vom Brockenplateau in eine Spezialklinik für Brandverletzte.
Auch am Dienstag waren sieben Hubschrauber sowie zwei Löschflugzeuge im Dauereinsatz. Der Concordiasee in Sachsen-Anhalt, aus dem die Flugzeuge das Löschwasser holen, war weiterhin für die Öffentlichkeit gesperrt. Zudem sollten Bodeneinheiten der Löschtrupps per Hubschrauber in einem Moorgebiet abgesetzt werden, auf das das Feuer übergegriffen hatte.
Der Waldbrand war am Samstag ausgebrochen. Insgesamt brannten rund 150 Hektar Wald in einem schwer zugänglichen Gebiet unterhalb des Brockens. Nach wie vor galt der Katastrophenfall im sachsen-anhaltischen Landkreis Harz. Der Ort Schierke ist gesperrt.
