"Außergewöhnliches" Champagner-Jahr trotz Hitze und Dürre im Sommer
Die Champagner-Produzenten erwarten einen "außergewöhnlichen" Jahrgang - und das trotz der Hitze und Dürreperioden in Frankreich in diesem Sommer. Sowohl Qualität als auch Menge seien in diesem Jahr vergleichbar mit den guten Jahren 2002 und 1982, teilte der Winzerverband SGV am Freitag mit. Die Ernte der Trauben hatte schon im August stattgefunden - früher als sonst üblich.
Zwar sei auch die Champagne wie das gesamte Land von Wassermangel betroffen gewesen, "doch der Regen kam im richtigen Moment während des Zyklusses". Der diesjährige Sommer in Frankreich war der zweitwärmste überhaupt mit Durchschnittstemperaturen, die 2,3 Grad Celsius über den Normwerten lagen. Das warme Wetter half wiederum dabei, Pflanzenkrankheiten wie Mehltau zu reduzieren.
Champagner-Produzenten konnten in diesem Jahr bis zu 12.000 Kilogramm Trauben pro Hektar ernten. Das ist der beste Wert seit 15 Jahren.
Champagner-Fans dürften den aktuellen Jahrgang dann 2024 genießen können - denn die allermeisten Flaschen verbleiben noch zwischen 15 Monaten und drei Jahren in den Kellern.
