EU-Wettbewerbsminister beraten über Lieferkettengesetz
Die Wettbewerbsminister der EU-Länder beraten am Donnerstag in Brüssel über ein gemeinsames Lieferkettengesetz (9.30 Uhr). Bei dem Treffen könnten sich die Mitgliedstaaten grundsätzlich auf solche Regeln einigen, die Unternehmen zur Einhaltung von Menschenrechtsstandards verpflichten. Die Europäische Kommission hatte im Februar ein EU-Lieferkettengesetz vorgeschlagen. Für Deutschland nimmt Wirtschaftsstaatssekretär Sven Giegold an dem Treffen teil.
Falls sich die Mitgliedstaaten grundsätzlich einig werden, müssten sie Details noch mit dem EU-Parlament verhandeln. Das will seine Position kommendes Jahr festlegen. In Deutschland gibt es bereits ein Lieferkettengesetz, das ab Januar gelten wird. Falls sich die EU auf Regeln einigt, die strenger sind, müsste Deutschland nachbessern.
