Norwegen will 54 Leopard-2-Panzer der neuen Generation aus Deutschland kaufen, um ältere Panzer des gleichen Modells zu ersetzen. Das kündigte die norwegische Regierung am Freitag an. Zudem gebe es eine Option auf 18 zusätzliche Leopard-2-Panzer, hieß es.
Die Bestellung der Leopard-Panzer vom Typ 2A7 ermöglicht es Norwegen, seine Panzerflotte von 36 Leoparden des Typs 2A4 zu ersetzen, von denen einige an die Ukraine abgegeben werden sollen.
Oslo hatte nach dem grünen Licht aus Berlin zur Abgabe von den in Deutschland hergestellten Leopard-Panzern an die Ukraine angekündigt, "so schnell wie möglich" liefern zu wollen.
