Selenskyj will an EU-Sondergipfel in Brüssel teilnehmen
Nach seinen Besuchen in London und Paris wird der ukrainische Präsident Wolodymyr Selenskyj am Donnerstag in Brüssel erwartet. Selenskyj kündigte an, dass er dort mit Staats- und Regierungschefs der EU zusammentreffen wolle. In Brüssel findet am Donnerstag und Freitag ein Sondergipfel der EU statt, bei dem es um weitere Ukraine-Hilfen gehen soll. Themen sind auch die Migration sowie die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der EU.
Selenskyjs Teilnahme an dem Gipfel rund zwei Wochen vor dem Jahrestag des russischen Angriffs auf die Ukraine am 24. Februar soll ein Symbol der Einheit Europas gegenüber Russland sein. Am Mittwochabend hatte Selenskyj in Paris Frankreichs Präsident Emmanuel Macron und Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz (SPD) getroffen und auf die Lieferung von Kampfjets gedrängt. Zuvor hatte der ukrainische Präsident London besucht, wo er mit Premierminister Rishi Sunak und König Charles III. zusammentraf.
