Schwedisches Parlament stimmt über Nato-Beitritt ab
Das schwedische Parlament stimmt am Mittwoch über einen Nato-Beitritt des Landes ab. Die Zustimmung der Abgeordneten zum Regierungsvorschlag über den Beitritt zur westlichen Militärallianz gilt als sicher. Allerdings steht das Ja der Nato-Mitglieder Türkei und Ungarn noch aus. Die Türkei blockiert eine Mitgliedschaft Schwedens bisher und fordert von der Regierung in Stockholm ein härteres Vorgehen gegen kurdische Aktivisten im Land, die Ankara als "Terroristen" betrachtet.
Finnland und Schweden hatten im Mai infolge des russischen Angriffs auf die Ukraine ihre jahrzehntelange militärische Neutralitätspolitik aufgegeben und gemeinsam den Beitritt zur Nato beantragt. Nach monatelangen Verzögerungen hatte der türkische Präsident Recep Tayyip Erdogan am Freitag grünes Licht für den Nato-Beitritt Finnlands gegeben. Bei einem Besuch in Berlin vergangene Woche sagte der schwedische Regierungschef Ulf Kristersson, er hoffe auf eine "rasche Ratifizierung" des Beitrittsgesuch seines Landes "nach den türkischen Wahlen".
