Brasilianischer Präsident entlässt Chef von staatlichem Ölkonzern Petrobras
Der brasilianische Präsident Jair Bolsonaro hat am Montag den Chef des staatlichen Ölkonzerns Petrobras entlassen. Das Energieministerium bestätigte am Montagabend, dass der Ökonom Adriano Pires auf den abgesetzten Joaquim Silva e Luna als Chef des größten staatlichen Ölkonzerns Lateinamerikas folgen soll. Die Ernennung müsse aber noch Mitte April vom Verwaltungsrat des Unternehmens bestätigt werden.
Pires ist der Gründer einer auf Energie spezialisierten Beratungsfirma. Zuvor hatte er die brasilianische Agentur für Erdöl, Erdgas und Biokraftstoffe geleitet.
Der ehemalige Verteidigungsminister Silva e Luna stand in der Kritik, weil er die Treibstoffpreise zuletzt stark erhöht hatte. Er war im Februar 2021 auf den Ökonomen Roberto Castello Branco gefolgt, der ebenfalls nach Preiserhöhungen von Bolsonaro entlassen worden war.
Petrobras hatte Anfang März die Preise für Benzin um rund 19 und für Diesel um knapp 25 Prozent erhöht, nachdem die Weltmarktpreise wegen des Kriegs in der Ukraine explodiert waren. Bolsonaro hatte dies scharf kritisiert. Der rechtsextreme Staatschef steht wegen der hohen Inflation sieben Monate vor den Wahlen in Brasilien unter Druck.
Petrobras beendete das Jahr 2021 mit einem Rekord-Nettogewinn von fast 20 Milliarden Dollar (18 Milliarden Euro).
