Treffen der Ukraine-Kontaktgruppe in Ramstein
Vor dem Hintergrund des Ringens um weitere Hilfen für die Ukraine im Kampf gegen Russland kommen am Dienstag in Rheinland-Pfalz erneut eine Reihe von Ukraine-Unterstützerländern zusammen. Verteidigungsminister und hochrangige Militärvertreter treffen sich (ab 9.30 Uhr) auf Einladung von US-Verteidigungsminister Lloyd Austin auf der US-Militärbasis Ramstein. Auch Bundesverteidigungsminister Boris Pistorius (SPD) wird dabei sein. Zum Abschluss ist gegen 16.30 Uhr eine Pressekonferenz vorgesehen.
In Ramstein hatten sich erstmals im April 2022 Vertreter aus 50 Ländern als Ukraine-Kontaktgruppe getroffen, um westliche Waffenhilfe für die Ukraine zu organisieren. Zuletzt war es zu Meinungsverschiedenheiten bei den westlichen Partnern über den Umfang der Waffenlieferungen an die Ukraine gekommen. Deutschland stand unter Druck, Marschflugkörper vom Typ Taurus zu liefern, was Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz (SPD) ablehnt. Nach einem Treffen mit Frankreichs Präsident Emmanuel Macron und Polens Regierungschef Donald Tusk kündigte Scholz dann vor wenigen Tagen an, es sei eine neue Koalition für "weitreichende Raketenartillerie" vereinbart worden. Die Koalition solle im Ramstein-Rahmen gebildet werden.
