El influyente clérigo iraquí Moqtada Sadr expresó este sábado su apoyo a las protestas propalestinas en varias universidades de Estados Unidos y pidió el fin de la "represión" contra estas manifestaciones.
Un movimiento de protesta propalestino para denunciar el apoyo de Estados Unidos a Israel en la guerra contra el movimiento palestino Hamás en Gaza ha ganado fuerza en las universidades estadounidenses, desde el campus de Columbia en Nueva York a otros establecimientos prestigiosos como Harvard, Yale o Princeton.
"Pedimos el cese la represión contra las voces que abogan por la paz y la libertad", afirmó Sadr, un importante clérigo chiita, en un comunicado. "Las voces en las universidades estadounidenses que exigen el fin del terrorismo sionista son nuestra voz".
