El PIB de Alemania se contrajo 0,7% en el cuarto trimestre de 2021, después de dos trimestre en alza, debido a las carencias que afectaron a la industria y a las restricciones por la pandemia, según los datos oficiales publicados el viernes.
"Después de haber vuelto a crecer en el verano, pese a las crecientes dificultades por la carencia de materiales, la recuperación se vio frenada por la cuarta ola de coronavirus", explicó el instituto de estadística Destatis en un comunicado.
En un año, el PIB se expandió 1,4%, según los datos ajustados a las variables estacionales, agregó el organismo.
En el conjunto de 2021, la economía creció 2,8%, según estos datos revisados al alza 0,1 puntos, un ajuste menor que el que registraron otras economías vecinas como Francia, que cerró el año pasado con una expansión de 7%.
La escasez de materias primas y de componentes golpeó duramente a la economía alemana, una potencia de la manufactura, cuyo sector automovilístico se vio especialmente lastrado.
También afectaron al PIB las restricciones para luchar contra la pandemia que frenaron el consumo y los servicios.
