UN-Sicherheitsrat befasst sich mit Lecks an Nord-Stream-Pipelines
Der UN-Sicherheitsrat in New York befasst sich am Freitag (15.00 Uhr Ortszeit; 21.00 Uhr MESZ) mit den Lecks an den Nord-Stream-Gaspipelines in der Ostsee. Die Sitzung des mächtigsten Gremiums der Vereinten Nationen wurde von Russland beantragt. An den von Russland nach Deutschland führenden Pipelines Nord Stream 1 und Nord Stream 2 sind diese Woche insgesamt vier Lecks entdeckt worden. Vermutet wird ein Sabotageakt, die Blicke westlicher Staaten richten sich dabei nach Russland.
Die russische Regierung weist jegliche Verwicklung zurück - und macht einen anderen Staat verantwortlich. Kreml-Sprecher Dmitri Peskow sagte zuletzt, es sei "sehr schwer vorstellbar, dass sich ein "derartiger Terrorakt ohne die Verwicklung eines Staats ereignet". Die Lecks sorgen inmitten des Ukraine-Kriegs nicht nur für politische Turbulenzen, sondern dürften auch umwelt- und klimaschädliche Auswirkungen haben.
