Wahlen zum Staatspräsidium und Parlament in Bosnien und Herzegowina
In Bosnien und Herzegowina finden am Sonntag Wahlen statt. Das in einen serbischen und einen kroatisch-muslimischen Teilstaat geteilte Land mit einer Zentralregierung wählt auf drei Ebenen: Auf gesamtstaatlicher Ebene bestimmen die Wähler die zwei Kammern des zentralen Parlaments sowie die dreiköpfige Präsidentschaft. Sie ist mit einem Kroaten, einem bosniakischen Muslim und einem Serben besetzt.
In der Republika Srpska, dem serbischen Landesteil, werden die regionalen Abgeordneten sowie der Präsident gewählt. Beobachter gehen davon aus, dass Serbenführer Milord Dodik wieder Präsident der Republika Srpska wird. In der muslimisch-kroatischen Föderation finden Wahlen für ein Zweikammerparlament statt, das dann einen Präsidenten bestimmen wird. Das komplexe und wenig funktionsfähige politische System in dem Balkanstaat ging aus dem Dayton-Abkommen von 1995 hervor, mit dem der Bürgerkrieg der 90er Jahre mit 100.000 Toten beendet worden war.
