Adeyemi mit Leistung beim BVB "auf keinen Fall zufrieden"
Fußball-Nationalspieler Karim Adeyemi war nach durchwachsenen Vorstellungen bei Bundesligist Borussia Dortmund selbst überrascht von seiner WM-Nominierung. "Ich habe nicht damit gerechnet, das gebe ich zu. Weil ich die letzten Monate bei Borussia Dortmund schlichtweg nicht gezeigt habe, was ich kann. Das habe ich dem Bundestrainer auch so gesagt. Ich bin sehr selbstkritisch", sagte der 20-Jährige dem Münchner Merkur/tz.
"Mit meiner Leistung, die ich bisher in Dortmund gezeigt habe, bin ich auf keinen Fall zufrieden", betonte er. Für die Zeit nach der WM habe er sich "fest vorgenommen, endlich beim BVB durchzustarten und der Mannschaft zu helfen. Das ist mir wichtig".
Bei der DFB-Auswahl lernt er von den Besten - und zwar "unglaublich viel", wie er berichtete. Thomas Müller etwa sieht Adeyemi als "absolute Legende". Der Münchner habe alles gewonnen – "und haut sich im Training so rein, als hätte er noch nie einen Titel errungen. Das ist mein Ansporn: Im 'Herbst' meiner Karriere möchte ich so sein wie Thomas Müller."
