Krejcikova und Siniakova gewinnen siebten Grand-Slam-Titel
Die tschechischen Titelsammlerinnen Barbora Krejcikova/Katerina Siniakova haben bei den Australian Open erneut zugeschlagen. Das Erfolgsduo sicherte sich mit einem 6:4, 6:3-Erfolg gegen die Japanerinnen Shuko Aoyama/Ena Shibahara bereits den siebten gemeinsamen Grand-Slam-Triumph. Das hatten vor Krejikova und Siniakova seit der Einführung des Profitennis 1968 erst vier weitere Teams geschafft.
Im vergangenen Jahr hatten die Tschechinnen in Melbourne, Wimbledon und New York triumphiert. In Paris hatten sie wegen eines positiven Coronatests von Krejcikova nicht an den Start gehen können.
