U21 trifft in EM-Quali erneut auf Polen und Israel
Die deutsche U21-Nationalmannschaft trifft in der Qualifikation für die EM 2025 in der Slowakei erneut auf Polen und Israel. Die weiteren Gegner des Titelverteidigers heißen Bulgarien, Kosovo und Estland. Das ergab die Auslosung am Donnerstag in der UEFA-Zentrale im schweizerischen Nyon.
In der Qualifikation für die EM 2023 in Rumänien und Georgien (21. Juni bis 8. Juli) hatte das Team von DFB-Trainer Antoni Di Salvo das Heimspiel gegen Polen 0:4 verloren - es blieb der einzige Punktverlust in zehn Partien. Das Rückspiel gewann Deutschland 2:1, auch gegen Israel (3:1 und 1:0) gab es zwei Siege. Am 22. Juni trifft Deutschland zudem auch in der Gruppenphase der EM auf Israel.
Die Qualifikationsspiele starten bereits im März 2023 und sollen bis Oktober 2024 abgeschlossen sein, Russland nimmt wegen des Kriegs in der Ukraine nicht an der Qualifikation teil. Die neun Gruppensieger und drei besten Zweitplatzierten qualifizieren sich direkt, die übrigen sechs Gruppenzweiten spielen im November 2024 die letzten drei Teilnehmer aus. Gastgeber Slowakei ist automatisch qualifiziert.
