Davis Cup gegen die Schweiz: Otte verliert zum Auftakt
Deutschland steht im Davis-Cup-Duell mit der Schweiz früh unter Druck. Tennisprofi Oscar Otte verlor gegen Marc-Andrea Hüsler im ersten Einzelmatch des Tages in Trier mit 6:2, 2:6, 4:6. Olympiasieger Alexander Zverev trifft am späteren Freitagabend noch auf den dreimaligen Grand-Slam-Sieger Stan Wawrinka (37).
Bei einer weiteren Niederlage droht die Mannschaft des Deutschen Tennis Bundes (DTB) die Qualifikation für die Davis-Cup-Gruppenphase im September aus den Augen zu verlieren. Für den Gesamtsieg gegen die Schweiz sind drei Erfolge notwendig. Die dritte und mögliche weitere Partien werden am Samstag ab 13 Uhr (sportbild.de/tennischannel.com) ausgetragen.
Vor den Augen des ehemaligen Wimbledon-Siegers Boris Becker, der auf der deutschen Bank Platz nahm, fand Otte stark in die Partie. Der Kölner, der nicht gut ins neue Tennisjahr gestartet war, holte direkt das erste Break und ließ sich den ersten Satz anschließend nicht mehr nehmen.
Im zweiten Durchgang aber schlug der 26 Jahre alte Hüsler mit guten Aufschlägen zurück und erzwang unter dem Jubel der Schweizer Fans den Entscheidungssatz. Dort gab Otte gleich zweimal seinen Aufschlag ab und fand nicht mehr ins Match zurück.
