Kapitän Manuel Neuer denkt auch nach dem riesigen Wirbel um seine vereinskritischen Interviews nicht an einen vorzeitigen Abschied von Bayern München. Das berichtet der kicker. Demnach wolle der 36-Jährige seinen bis 2024 laufenden Vertrag beim deutschen Fußball-Rekordmeister erfüllen.
Neuer werde sich nach der Genesung von seinem Beinbruch dem Konkurrenzkampf stellen, heißt es. Aktuell haben die Bayern neben ihm seinen Vertreter Yann Sommer (bis 2025) und Ersatzmann Sven Ulreich (bis 2024) unter Vertrag. Dazu könnte zur neuen Saison Alexander Nübel (bis 2025) nach seiner Leihe an die AS Monaco an die Isar zurückkehren.
Kapitän Neuer, der zur Heim-EM 2024 auch zurück ins DFB-Tor strebt, hatte die Bayern für den Rauswurf seines Vertrauten und Torwarttrainers Toni Tapalovic hart kritisiert ("Herz rausgerissen"). Die Bosse kündigten interne Gespräche mit ihm an. Möglich scheint eine Geldstrafe oder auch, dass er das Kapitänsamt abgeben muss.
"Ich habe schon oft betont: Er ist der beste Torwart der Welt", sagte Trainer Julian Nagelsmann am Rande des Auswärtsspiels am Sonntag beim VfL Wolfsburg: "Ich hoffe, dass er gesund zurückkommt, alles andere ist Zukunftsmusik."
