Weltmeister Hansen mit Stresssymptomen krankgeschrieben
Der dänische Handball-Superstar Mikkel Hansen (35) ist mit Stresssymptomen krankgeschrieben und fällt für unbestimmte Zeit aus. Dies teilte sein Klub Aalborg Handbold am Mittwoch mit. Hansen, der mit der Nationalmannschaft Dänemarks gerade zum dritten Mal nacheinander WM-Gold gewonnen hat, habe die Entscheidung in Absprache mit seiner Familie, Ärzten und dem Verein getroffen, heißt es.
"Gemeinsam haben wir die einzig richtige Wahl getroffen, bei der der Fokus voll und ganz darauf liegt, dass Mikkel die nötige Zeit und professionelle Unterstützung erhält, um sich zu erholen", sagte Aalborgs Geschäftsführer Jan Larsen.
Hansen, Welthandballer der Jahre 2011, 2015 und 2018, war im vergangenen Sommer nach zehn Jahren bei Paris St. Germain zurück in seine dänische Heimat gewechselt. Mit Aalborg führt er die dänische Liga an und steht in der Champions League vor dem Einzug in die K.o.-Runde. Beim ersten Ligaspiel nach dem WM-Finale am 29. Januar gegen Frankreich (34:29) stand Hansen nicht im Kader.
