Shiffrin: 88. Sieg - und noch zwei Rekorde
Ski-Königin Mikaela Shiffrin ist der perfekte Abschluss ihrer Rekordsaison gelungen. Beim Weltcup-Finale in Soldeu/Andorra fuhr die Amerikanerin im letzten Riesenslalom des Winters zu ihrem 14. Sieg in dieser Saison, ihrem 88. insgesamt. Es war zugleich ihr 21. Erfolg in dieser Disziplin - sie ist damit alleinige Rekordhalterin vor der legendären Schweizerin Vreni Schneider. Darüber hinaus stand sie zum 138. Mal auf dem Podest, eine Bestmarke, die bisher nur der Österreicher Marcel Hirscher erreicht hat.
Der abschließende Sieg für Shiffrin, die schon vor dem Weltcup-Finale als Gewinnerin des Gesamtweltcups sowie der Wertungen im Riesenslalom und im Slalom festgestanden hatte, fiel ungewöhnlich knapp aus. Die 28-Jährige lag am Ende nur 0,06 Sekunden vor Thea Louise Stjernesund aus Norwegen und 0,20 Sekunden vor Valerie Grenier aus Kanada. Sofia Goggia aus Italien (Abfahrt) und Lara Gut-Behrami aus der Schweiz (Super-G) holten sich die anderen Kristallkugeln.
Eine deutsche Läuferin war nicht am Start: Im abgelaufenen Winter war keiner überhaupt ein Weltcuppunkt in dieser Disziplin gelungen.
