Herrmann-Wick im letzten Karriererennen Sechste
Biathlon-Olympiasiegerin Denise Herrmann-Wick hat das letzte Rennen ihrer Karriere mit einer weiteren Top-Ten-Platzierung beendet. Einen Tag nach ihrem Sieg im Sprint landete die 34-Jährige beim Weltcupfinale in Oslo im Massenstart auf Rang sechs (3 Schießfehler/+57,1 Sekunden). Teamkollegin Hanna Kebinger verpasste als Vierte (1/+46,5) das Podest nur um drei Sekunden.
"Es ist alles gerade total überwältigend. Dass es jetzt vorbei sein soll, geht mir nicht in den Kopf", sagte Herrmann-Wick in der ARD: "Das letzte Rennen hat mir nochmal alles abverlangt."
Der Sieg ging an die Schwedin Hanna Öberg (1 Fehler). Dahinter verabschiedete sich die dreimalige Olympiasiegerin Marte Olsbu Röiseland (Norwegen), die wie Herrmann-Wick ihre Karriere beendet, mit Rang zwei (1/+22,6). Knapp vor Kebinger erreichte die Französin Anais Chevalier-Bouchet ebenfalls in ihrem letzten Rennen Platz drei (3/+43,7).
Herrmann-Wick, die 2016 vom Langlauf zum Biathlon gewechselt war, schließt damit ihre Laufbahn ohne einen Weltcupsieg im Massenstart ab. Am Vortag hatte sie sich in ihrem letzten Sprintrennen wie schon in der Saison 2019/20 die kleine Kristallkugel für die Disziplinwertung gesichert. Da der Sprint wegen zu starken Nebels am Freitag um einen Tag verschoben worden war, entfiel die Verfolgung.
Vanessa Voigt (3/+1:45,6) wurde zum Abschluss 14. und landete damit einen Platz vor Janina Hettich-Walz (3/+1:47,3). Für sie geht es nun in eine achtmonatige Pause. Der Beginn der neuen Saison ist für den 25. November in Östersund angesetzt. Höhepunkt des kommenden Winters werden die Weltmeisterschaften im tschechischen Nove Mesto (5. bis 18. Februar 2024) sein.
